Kim Kardashian West made a case for the denim-on-denim look while attending the WSJ Mag Innovator Awards in New York City on Monday.
For the event, the reality star wore an off-the-shoulder denim corset with bubbled sleeves. She also donned matching pants, though they were covered by blue leather chaps that extended over pointed boots.

Her second pair of pants did not entirely cover her butt, as seen when she turned around to pose for pictures with her husband, Kanye West.

West, on the other hand, made a fashion statement of his own. He wore a traditional suit but tucked his pants into what appear to be leather rain boots.

The celebrity couple has recently made headlines for their arguments over Kardashian West's style. In a recent episode of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," for example, West argued with his wife over her Met Gala outfit, which he felt was "too sexy."
Kardashian West defended her public image, saying: "You built me up to be this sexy person and [have] confidence and all this stuff, and just because you're on a journey and you're on your transformation, doesn't mean I'm in the same spot with you."
It was later revealed that her dress was supposed to have two fake nipples attached to it, which West felt were too inappropriate for his wife to wear in front of their children.
