Of course Jared Leto dressed like Jesus for the Met Gala

It's fashion's biggest and most baffling night of the year: the Met Gala. This year's theme is "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & The Catholic Imagination," which pays tribute to the Catholic church. 

With a theme so deeply entrenched in religion and religious imagery, someone was bound to dress like Jesus. And of course, it was Jared Leto.

To get the look, he wore a quilted, patterned stole, a blue suit, a ruffled pink top, and what appeared to be a gold foil crown. His long locks and beard solidified the look.

Leto arrived at the event with Gucci's fashion director Alessandro Michele and singer Lana Del Rey. The trio appeared to coordinate outfits, as they had similar aesthetics.

People on Twitter have a lot of thoughts about Leto's outfit.

Some applauded his dedication to the theme and elevating menswear.

Others weren't so sure.

At least he can say he dressed in theme.
