Kate Middleton replica outfit

  • Stephanie is a Canadian blogger dedicated to finding affordable versions of iconic Kate Middleton outfits.
  • Her website, Budget Duchess, shares outfit ideas for dressing like the Duchess of Cambridge.
  • Stephanie has even channeled Meghan Markle's style recently.

When Kate Middleton graces the world with affordable fast fashion, the items tend to sell out immediately. This makes the royal's covetable style difficult to replicate.

But fashion blogger Stephanie isn't waiting around for the Duchess of Cambridge to rock something from Zara or Topshop; she's emulating the royal's designer looks on a cost-effective budget, which she shares on her blog, Budget Duchess.

Stephanie told INSIDER she has always loved Middleton's "elegant style" and has found herself drawn to items similar to ones the royal has worn in the past. From the moment she saw Middleton's blue Issa wrap dress, which she wore for the official announcement of her engagement to Prince William, she has been inspired.

Take a look at how Stephanie has brought out her inner royal in an affordable manner.

Oscar de la Renta may not be a feasible option for many, but Budget Duchess found a gorgeous purple dress that captures the essence of Middleton's designer ensemble.

In her blog post, Stephanie admired the button accents that line the side of this dress. She sees it as an "excellent option to wear to work, or for a family gathering."

Stephanie told INSIDER that this was her favorite Middleton look to recreate.

Middleton wore this cherry red tea-length dress by Preen during the Royal Tour of Canada in September 2016. In a blog post, Stephanie recounted the special memory of seeing the Duke and Duchess twice in her hometown during this tour.

Middleton's playful polka dot dress by Dolce & Gabbana is a summer staple, and so is Stephanie's off-the-shoulder version.

Budget Duchess found this steal of a dress for $25, according to her blog. She loved wearing such a "fun print and timeless style."

But Stephanie doesn't always copy every detail of Middleton's fabulous ensembles — sometimes she hones in on an element from the royal, and adapts the look to suit her lifestyle.

The blogger told us that she now keeps "a running inventory" of her favorite Middleton outfits so that she can shop for pieces that are "very similar in nature" to something the Duchess of Cambridge has worn.

Here, she was inspired by Middleton's $1,950 green floral Rochas dress, which sold out instantly after she wore it, so she turned it into a casual belted tunic. Stephanie paired the top with taupe ankle booties, but, in her blog, she said that she would also pair it with brown knee-high boots and a jacket to transition into winter.

For reference, here's the Rochas dress Middleton wore:

This Alexander McQueen coat that Middleton wore on Christmas in 2013 is particularly lovely. Stephanie channeled the festive look with a more affordable plaid dress.

In her "Plaid Party" post, Stephanie acknowledged that the tones of her blue and green dress are "spot on" when compared to Middleton's McQueen coat. She also suggested dressing it down with flat boots, leggings, and a fur vest.

The Budget Duchess mastered Middleton's fancy side with this sheer black dress.

Stephanie's blog post says that the sheer overlay dresses up the black slip, making it a suitable option for formal events and holiday parties.

The blogger found a vibrant blue and white floral garment that looked nearly identical to Middleton's L.K. Bennett dress, which she wore in 2014 and 2016.

On her website, Stephanie said that she also envisioned the garment with a cardigan or a blazer for work days.

After Meghan Markle's coat made headlines, the Budget Duchess sported a similar white wrap coat with neutral lace-up flats.

According to her blog post, this was her first Markle-inspired outfit, and it cost less than $50.
