  • Women attending the 2018 Golden Globe Awards will reportedly wear black to make a statement against sexual misconduct.
  • Sources have confirmed the trend to People and The Morning Breath.
  • Actresses, nominees, and presenters will reportedly participate.
  • The reported protest may continue throughout the awards season, according to People.

Women attending the 75th Golden Globe Awards in 2018 will reportedly take a powerful stance on the red carpet in response to the allegations of sexual misconduct that have flooded the entertainment industry.

On Thursday, The Morning Breath reported that actresses will protest by dressing in black at the awards show, which takes place on January 7.

Sources have also confirmed the news to People, specifying that the participants "wearing black gowns" will include female presenters and nominees. Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, and Emma Stone are all up for an award, so we may well see them all dressed in the same color.

"All female actresses attending the Globes are protesting by just wearing black gowns," an unnamed source told People.

According to People's sources, actresses may not just wear black at the Golden Globes but also during the entire awards season.

Since the accusations against film producer Harvey Weinstein first broke in October, multiple women and men — both within and outside of the entertainment industry — continue to come forward with allegations of sexual misconduct

Kevin SpaceyLouis C.K., and Russell Simmons are among the growing number of men in Hollywood who have been accused of sexual misconduct in the wake of the allegations brought against Weinstein.

While there is no confirmed list of specific celebrities set to participate in the Golden Globes dark dress plan, we can expect to see a lot of black gowns on the red carpet that will make a lasting statement.
