- Others are more upset that she was shown crying.
Model Ming Xi recently made headlines when she fell in front of 18,000 people on the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show runway.
The pre-recorded event — which was held in Shanghai, China, on November 20 — aired on CBS Tuesday, and viewers were surprised to find that Xi's slip-up wasn't edited out of the televised show. It even showed footage of her crying backstage.
The model, who appeared in her fifth Victoria's Secret show, handled her tumble gracefully as she was helped back up by fellow model Gizele Oliviera, and continued her walk as though nothing had happened.
Even as she fell, MingXi maintained her composure and actually managed to look calm and graceful. After taking a second to quickly adjust her flowery wings and headpiece, Ming stood up with the help of Gizele Oliviera. @giizeleoliveira#VSFashionShow#vsfs17pic.twitter.com/36XISlRLvP

As she made her way offstage, Xi, understandably, burst into tears.
People on Twitter had a lot of feelings about the model's fall being included in the televised show, and many thought that it was unneccessary to show her crying.
I love the Victoria’s Secret fashion show but was it necessary to show the girl crying after the fall??

This Victoria's Secret show is messed up for showing Ming Xi fall. Then they show the aftermath of her crying and clumsily getting up. They could have easily edited that out. Shady as all hell. pic.twitter.com/2Wmu8YTWxO

Yo Victoria’s Secret should have edited that fall out 😭 poor girl #VictoriasSecretFashionshow

Pretty uncool of Victoria's Secret to not only show Ming Xi fall, but then also show her crying backstage. 😑#VictoriaSecretFashionShow

I understand showing the fall to make models seem like real people, but why continue to show the poor girl crying backstage? Not cool Victoria’s Secret or CBS #VSFashionShow#VSFS2017#shame#poorgirl#blessherheart

Definitely not cool they chose to include the poor girl literally sobbing, she was so upset since it was her hometown!! #VSFS#VSFashionShow2017#VSFS17

Others found the fall refreshing, and even inspiring.

This Twitter user wanted the fall to be part of the show.
Poor Xi Meng Yao took a fall onstage 😭😭 Baby girl got back up and gave a gorgeous pose though (topic currently trending too), hoping they don’t cut her out ♥️#奚梦瑶#ximengyao#mingxipic.twitter.com/VHQ2Heik1w

Some people offered words of support to Xi.
To the girl that just fell during the Victoria’s Secret fashion show I just want you to know that you’re so beautiful and you rocked it out there! We all fall but you just gotta get back up and keep going!!

While Xi was upset immediately after the incident, she is far from the only model to ever fall on the runway — and she later addressed her tumble on social media.
"It was no doubt one of the hardest moments I have ever had to go through in my career, especially since the show was taking place in my hometown, in front of my mother's and my people's eyes," Xi wrote on Instagram. "However, the support I received from everyone yesterday was incredible and I am truly grateful to everyone who was there for me."
She ended her post on a positive note: "I will pick myself up from where I fell, and I will keep going in order to repay all the support you all have given me!!"
Xi also issued a statement on the Chinese social media platform, Weibo.
"I'm sorry to let everyone down. Thanks for everyone's concern," she wrote. "As a model for seven years, I have fallen on this road many times, but I know no matter how painful it is, I must stand and finish. The future road is long. I will always continue walking."
Here's Xi's full Instagram caption:
"As many of you may already know, I fell during my 5th year walking at the Victoria's Secret show yesterday. It was no doubt one of the hardest moments I have ever had to go through in my career, especially since the show was taking place in my hometown, in front of my mother's and my people's eyes. However, the support I received from everyone yesterday was incredible and I am truly grateful to everyone who was there for me. @ed_razek Thank you for your supportive words and your continuous support throughout these 7 years. @giizeleoliveira Thank you for helping me up after the fall, it was a very selfless and loving act from you. Thank you to all the girls who rushed to comfort me at backstage after what had happened, you are all family to me. Lastly thank you to everyone who sent and left me supportive messages. I will pick myself up from where I fell, and I will keep going in order to repay all the support you all have given me!! ❤️️#vsfashionshow@victoriassecret"
